Smokers have different alibis when it comes to quitting. Some
smokers will totally defend their addiction and will justify that
nicotine is doing something good in their life. On the other hand, for
those who are already suffering from the ill effects of smoking, they
truly admit that smoking is bad but unfortunately they couldn't find the
easy way to quit.
I have known a few people who died a smoker.
Some are lucky enough to quit before dying because of Doctor's advice to
stop or diseases that can only be cured by quitting. These people have
at least prolonged their life by stopping unlike the former group which I
mentioned earlier who kept on puffing those harmful smoke right until
their life ended.
So the question arises, is it worth it to stop
smoking? And the answer of course is a big YES. Not only do we prolong
our life, we also save our money from buying cigarettes and every cent
saved is well worth the effort. Once we quit, we are also able to
protect the people we love around us by not giving them harmful second
hand smoke. We also protect the environment and the people in our
community.
Smoking gives all sorts of diseases and that is a fact
not to be argued upon. Not only does it adversely affect your health, it
will also affect the way you look. A smoker's skin is dry and wrinkled
and at the same time the smoker's teeth is dark, yellowish and stained.
So you could just imagine the immediate benefits that you will acquire
as soon as you throw your last cigarette.
Money of course is also
an important factor. With the rising cost of commodities it is well
advised to use your money wisely only for the important things you need.
Have you ever computed how much have you spent on cigarettes since you
started smoking? If you are a heavy smoker, you might be alarmed with
the money you have spent in the past buying cigarettes and tobaccos. But
whether you are a heavy smoker or not, try to spend your money
somewhere else rather than buying stuff that will make you sick.
Everything
is all worth it if you quit smoking and the sooner the better. And if
you find yourself having difficulties trying to stop, keep in mind that
you will find many resources out there to help you quit. Strengthen your
desire and commit yourself. Affirm that once and for all you have
decided to stop your nicotine addiction. Choose a quit date and stop
once the day is reached and if ever you fail, keep on quitting until you
succeed.
